Judge — "Is the quality sufficient?"¶
Mindset: Judge. Rule from verified evidence, not from RF confidence. Verify findings: verify.md
Universal Checklist¶
| # | Check | Status | Evidence |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | DoD met? | ✅ | Verify’s AC re-check independently passes AC-1 through AC-9. Phase A-applicable master DoD items pass; Phase B and later-product items remain explicitly pending rather than being claimed complete. |
| 2 | Two clauses: (a) Purpose Check; (b) design soundness | ✅ | (a) Master HL §1 at a60bc6d requires a methodology that helps people delegate intellectual work without losing “purpose, authority, judgment, memory, or the ability to continue”; the result makes those protections citable and inspectable, avoiding the material harm of technically correct work that obscures authority or cannot be continued. No excess or deferral confession: only the essay and normal traces shipped; BoK, Phase B, mechanics, and brand work did not. The new NS1–NS3 is consistent with the baseline, so there is no contract defect. (b) Verify shows the design implements master P1–P9: one layered authority model, philosophy before machinery, human authority, selected Trace, operational self-awareness, subtraction, provenance, bounded Editions, and research-constrained claims. |
| 3 | Tech debt documented | ✅ | RF §6 is present and explicitly reports no observations. The review quality filter found no RF observation to promote to TECH_DEBT.md. |
| 4 | Style & standards | ✅ | English content matches content_language: en; the essay is coherent, domain-neutral, directly linked, below budget, has stable IDs, and contains no placeholders or mechanics catalog. Commit subjects follow the attribution grammar. |
| 5 | Observations collected | ✅ | RF §6 consciously records “No observations” and distinguishes pre-existing dirty workspace state from product findings. No filler debt was invented. |
| 6 | RF completeness (§7–9) | ✅ | RF §7 Fact Candidates, §8 Strategic Insights, and §9 Diagrams are all present with explicit, reasoned no-item statements. |
| 7 | Evidence completeness — does it exist? | ✅ | Mandatory EV exists; every one of nine TS Evidence fields has a matching valid N/A row, and every AC has a separate completed document gate. |
| 8 | Evidence sufficiency — does it establish the claim? | ✅ | Independent word/line, link, anchor, contract-drift, scope, source, and content checks reproduce the EV signals and establish the Markdown/source-accounting claims. They do not establish human comprehension, learning, adoption, correctness, or field effect; the essay and RF make none of those claims. |
| 9 | Backward compatibility | ✅ | Root and all nine local links remain functional; Task Board consumers gain ONB/RF links; stable ns1–ns3 IDs are available to Phase B; no old fragment link in the active entry surface was broken. Some descriptive references still use the retired § Values and Principles label, but they remain file-level pointers and are a non-blocking downstream alignment note under the master’s bounded-follow-up rule, not a broken Phase A interface. |
| 10 | Safety | ✅ | The diff contains Markdown and task traces only; no secret, credential, executable, destructive operation, translation, runtime, or external write was introduced. Owner-local source material was read but not copied wholesale or published as authority. |
Purpose Check — row 2 clause (a)¶
Outcome: aligned. The baseline clause served is master HL §1: TFW should help people delegate intellectual work without losing “purpose, authority, judgment, memory, or the ability to continue.” The concrete harm is loss of legitimate control and continuability when an isolated output survives but its purpose, bounds, accepting authority, material grounds, or next decision does not. The essay directly addresses that harm and introduces no adjacent delivery.
Three tests¶
- Excess and adjacency: no — the final diff is the one production essay plus ONB/EV/RF and the Task Board row; no BoK, Phase B, mechanics, translations, or brand work.
- Deferral confession: no — the result names the BoK and translations as different homes and does not ship them here.
- Materiality: yes, the protected value is material — purpose, authority, inspectability, and continuation under delegated cognitive work — rather than a wording preference.
The baseline and the Project North Star can be satisfied together; no internally inconsistent reference-set clause was found.
Master Contract Coverage¶
| Contract items | Phase A ruling |
|---|---|
| DoD 1, 3–10, 14–15, 18 | PASS for the Phase A deliverable. Definition/architecture, problem-led essay, operational self-awareness, Trace and authority boundaries, source restraint, Editions limits, no BoK, normal trace, and citable non-goals all hold. |
| DoD 2 | PASS for Phase A’s half: .tfw/README.md states the North Star / future BoK / living specification / corpus hierarchy. Root doorway alignment remains Phase B. |
| DoD 17 | PRE-SATISFIED by the two approved research iterations and preserved in the frozen baseline. |
| DoD 11–13 | NOT YET APPLICABLE — these are Phase B root/translation, per-doorway, combined-English, switch, parity, and navigation gates. |
| DoD 16 | PARTIAL BY DESIGN — the reviewed North Star supplies the philosophy; the later approved BoK and guide remain separate work. |
| DoF 1–8, 12–16 | NOT TRIGGERED within Phase A. |
| DoF 9, 11, 17 | NOT YET APPLICABLE — root duplication, doorway usability, and translation review are Phase B gates. |
| DoF 10 | Phase A essay portion PASS at 1,548 ≤ 2,000. The root 800-word and combined 2,600-word final gates remain pending Phase B and are not represented as completed here. |
All eleven Phase TS Definition-of-Failure conditions are not triggered.
Contradictions with KNOWLEDGE.md¶
No active contradiction.
| # | Knowledge item | Result claim | Contradiction? |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | D2/D35 — root doorway vs philosophy-paper separation | Phase A changes only .tfw/README.md; root public simplification remains Phase B |
No |
| 2 | D52–D54 — evidence and adapter boundaries | EV is mandatory but live evidence is N/A; no adapter/mechanics change | No |
| 3 | D56–D60 — proportional Editions and capability boundaries | Editions and human-effect claims are explicitly bounded | No |
| 4 | D63/D64 — contract baseline and cited purpose defence | Master is unchanged and Purpose Check uses a60bc6d, not the TS |
No |
| 5 | philosophy F32/F33/F36/F42 — preserve meaning, teach through experienced limits, separate quality from purpose, apply materiality | The essay and verdict follow all four | No |
Historical entries describing the retired .tfw/README.md structure remain history, not current normative contradictions.
Non-blocking Observations¶
- Root README descriptions that still promise lifecycle/anti-pattern/evolution content from
.tfw/README.mdare intentionally left for Phase B; they do not block Phase A. .tfw/glossary.mdPV priority 1 and.tfw/templates/HL.mdstill use the old textual label§ Values and Principles. Their file targets resolve and no fragment consumer breaks, but a later bounded mechanics/documentation-alignment task should relabel them to the reviewed North Star structure. This review does not expand Phase A to edit them.- RF’s master DoF grouping calls DoF-10 “not triggered.” The precise reviewer classification is: the essay portion passes, while root/combined final limits remain pending Phase B. This wording imprecision does not change Phase A compliance or require an RF revision.
Checkpoint¶
Self-check:
- [x] Every checklist row has evidence.
- [x] No row is silently skipped or marked N/A without a reason.
- [x] Row 2(a) uses the master HL at
a60bc6dplus the Project North Star, never the TS or Phase HL, and quotes the clause served with the material harm. - [x] Rows 7 and 8 are answered separately: presence versus claim-establishing strength.
- [x] DoD assessment cites Verify’s actual AC findings.
- [x] RF §§7–9 were checked for presence and quality.
- [x] KNOWLEDGE.md and the full PV index were cross-referenced.
- [x] RF Fact Candidates and Observations were reviewed; neither contains an item requiring challenge or debt promotion.
