Evidence¶
The TS marks every AC's live evidence field N/A: this phase changes a Markdown contract and makes no deployed-behavior or human-comprehension claim. The N/A results below therefore describe evidence applicability, while the following Gate Verdicts record whether each required document inspection passed.
| # | AC | What was verified | Environment | Result | Artifact |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| E1 | AC-1 | Opening, functional definition, architecture, repository role, and category bound | Local source inspection | N/A | AC-1 mapping |
| E2 | AC-2 | Selected Trace, F1–F4 semantic floor, continuability, and proportional assurance | Local source inspection | N/A | AC-2 mapping |
| E3 | AC-3 | Human/agent authority sentences and three narrowed source claims | Local source inspection | N/A | AC-3 mapping |
| E4 | AC-4 | Literal anchors and aligned/excessive purpose tests | Local PowerShell + manual purpose test | N/A | AC-4 checks |

| E9 | AC-9 | Complete AC/source/subtraction/BoK accounting with consistent statuses | Trace self-inspection | N/A | AC-9 checks |
Verdict¶
Evidence verdict: 0/9 VERIFIED, 0 DEFERRED, 0 BLOCKED, 9 N/A.
Document-gate verdict: 9/9 PASS. No AC relies on a live environment, external behavior, or human-effect claim.
Gate Verdicts¶
| AC | Gate result | Exact essay location | Summary |
|---|---|---|---|
| AC-1 | PASS | When work disappears; What TFW is |
Problem precedes definition and machinery; architecture and owner-positioning limit are explicit. |
| AC-2 | PASS | Chat is raw material, not memory; What a Trace is; What makes work continuable |
Trace is selected material continuity; F1–F4/R1 semantics are present without private labels. |
| AC-3 | PASS | What remains human; NS2 — Principles |
Purpose, authority, judgment, acceptance, accountability, stop responsibility, bounds, and claim qualifications are explicit. |
| AC-4 | PASS | NS1, NS2, NS3 |
Three direct IDs exist; purpose tests deterministically accept/reject from their clauses. |
| AC-5 | PASS | What a Trace is; What TFW is; Proportional realizations; NS3 |
Required overclaims are removed or bounded; no novelty or field-effect claim remains. |
| AC-6 | PASS | Work that can describe its own state; Proportional realizations |
All six capabilities, non-anthropomorphic limit, proportional Editions, and evidence boundary are explicit. |
| AC-7 | PASS | Where truth belongs |
North Star, living mechanics, corpus, and future BoK destinations are distinct. |
| AC-8 | PASS | Whole essay; raw checks below | 1,548 words, 105 lines, 9/9 local links, 3/3 explicit IDs, problem-led order. |
| AC-9 | PASS | This EV | Nine AC mappings, claim/source/subtraction ledgers, BoK check, raw outputs, and zero placeholder fields are present. |
AC-1: Problem-led definition and architecture¶
| Required unit | Essay section | Inspection result |
|---|---|---|
| Invisible/discontinuous delegated work before framework artifacts | When work disappears |
Opens with lost framing, assumptions, alternatives, trade-offs, and acceptance meaning; no lifecycle or artifact acronym appears. |
| One functional definition | What TFW is, second paragraph |
Names joint human–AI work, retained human authority, bounded agent work, selected durable traces, result/current state, and continuation. |
| Philosophy → methodology → realizations | What TFW is, all three paragraphs |
Philosophy of Trace is foundation; TFW is methodology; workflows/implementations are realizations. |
| Repository role | Work that can describe its own state, final paragraph |
Calls this repository self-applying, self-describing, and a reference example rather than the only realization. |
| Category evidence bound | What TFW is, final paragraph |
Says methodology is owner-selected and not a research-proven new category or component invention. |
Opening inspection: no lifecycle stage, artifact name, installation step, or code-regeneration claim occurs before the problem and Trace explanation.
AC-2: Trace and continuability¶
Private completeness map¶
| Private test | Public prose location | Observable semantic content |
|---|---|---|
| F1 — human purpose/authority | What makes work continuable; What remains human |
Person keeps purpose and legitimate authority; people/institutions retain judgment, acceptance, accountability, and stop responsibility. |
| F2 — bounded delegation | What makes work continuable; NS2 principle 4 |
Task, Context, Boundaries, accepting authority, stop, and escalation bound agent work. |
| F3 — selected material trace plus result/current state | What a Trace is; What makes work continuable |
Trace is selected, durable, inspectable, and material; it includes result or current state. |
| F4 — authoritative continuation/close | What makes work continuable; NS2 principle 5 |
Work ends with an authoritative next step or explicit close. |
| R1 — proportional assurance | What makes work continuable; Proportional realizations; NS2 principle 6 |
Evidence, review, and verified knowledge scale with consequence/risk rather than serving as universal minima. |
The public essay contains zero F1, F2, F3, F4, or R1 labels. It defines Trace against transcript, hidden chain-of-thought, complete memory, automatic truth, and identical deterministic reproduction. It connects Goal, Value, Question, Task, Context, and Boundaries only to orientation, uncertainty, bounded work, acceptance, and drift control.
AC-3: Human/agent authority boundary¶
Authority-bearing sentences¶
| Requirement | Exact sentence or clause in the essay |
|---|---|
| Human responsibility | “People or legitimate institutions retain purpose, authority, judgment, acceptance, accountability, and the responsibility to stop.” |
| Agent boundary | “An agent can analyze, propose, create, test, and coordinate inside the authority it has been given; it cannot create legitimate authority for itself.” |
| Sufficient, not total, understanding | “Useful delegation does not require a person to master every domain detail in advance.” The next sentence names purpose, context, boundaries, acceptance, authority, and escalation. |
| Observability limit | “Observability makes correction possible; it does not guarantee correctness.” |
| Contextual memory interests | The ownership paragraph names employees, employers, clients, data subjects, privacy, security, contract, and IP before giving the narrower anti-lock-in rule. |
Required source-claim dispositions¶
| Source claim | Disposition | Bounded essay claim |
|---|---|---|
| Mini-essay 03: “one cannot delegate what one does not understand” | Qualified | Complete mastery is unnecessary; sufficient framing, bounds, acceptance, authority, and escalation are required. |
| Mini-essay 05: autonomy requires observability | Qualified | Observability enables inspection/correction and risk-proportional control; it is not correctness. |
| Mini-essays 04/08: memory belongs to person or organization | Qualified | Entitlement and access depend on employment, client, privacy, security, contractual, and IP context; vendor captivity is rejected. |
AC-4: Citable Project North Star¶
Anchor result¶
| ID | Explicit source anchor | Visible heading | Result |
|---|---|---|---|
ns1 |
<a id="ns1"></a> |
NS1 — Purpose |
PASS |
ns2 |
<a id="ns2"></a> |
NS2 — Principles |
PASS |
ns3 |
<a id="ns3"></a> |
NS3 — Non-goals |
PASS |
Purpose tests¶
| Proposal | Decision | Deterministic North Star reason |
|---|---|---|
| Replace a repeated artifact inventory with one Goal/Value prompt, an explicit accepting authority, a current-state note, and a next-step field; link detailed mechanics instead of duplicating them | ACCEPT | NS1 protects purpose/authority/continuation; NS2 principles 1, 4, 5, and 6 make those exact choices and subtract ceremony. |
| Require every task to capture the full vendor chat, use one vendor-only memory feature, add Full evidence/review to every reversible task, and promise identical regeneration | REJECT | NS3 rejects raw chat archives, deterministic generators, maximum-documentation bureaucracy, and vendor-bound tools; NS2 principle 6 rejects disproportionate assurance. |
The 1,548-word result stays 452 words below the fixed ceiling; no budget increase was requested.
AC-5: Claims remain evidence-bounded¶
Source/claim ledger¶
| # | Source class and location | Old or candidate claim | Disposition | New bounded claim | Evidence limit |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| C1 | Historical project prose — old .tfw/README.md, Traces Over Code |
Code is reproducible output and therefore secondary/disposable | Qualified | An output has independent value; a Trace preserves grounds for inspection and continuation | No deterministic regeneration test exists |
| C2 | Historical project prose — old .tfw/README.md, Traces Over Code |
A prompt/context produces the same output “again and again” | Removed | A good Trace does not promise an identical result | Models, conditions, and judgment vary |
| C3 | Historical project prose — old .tfw/README.md, How TFW Works |
One deterministic lifecycle and artifact chain defines TFW | Removed/routed | Workflows are realizations; current mechanics are linked | Full mechanics are one realization |
| C4 | Historical positioning — old .tfw/README.md; TFW-32 Phase D |
Same lifecycle and same artifacts work in every domain | Removed | Same semantic continuity may be realized differently by work and risk | Cross-domain component uniformity is not demonstrated |
| C5 | Historical positioning — old .tfw/README.md; TFW-32 Phase D |
Documentation generates/maintains itself; nobody writes or maintains it | Qualified | Selected traces are produced with work; durable knowledge is an assurance layer requiring judgment | Automatic completeness/maintenance is not established |
| C6 | Historical project prose — old .tfw/README.md, Success Criteria |
Every decision is traceable and context switching is lossless | Removed | Material decisions and current state should be inspectable enough to continue | Total capture and zero loss are not claimed |
| C7 | Historical project prose — old .tfw/README.md, Success Criteria |
Correct output requires no manual editing; fix only prompt/context | Removed | Human review is legitimate when risk warrants it | First-pass acceptance is not established |
| C8 | Historical positioning — old .tfw/README.md |
AI agents are team members with unbounded parity | Qualified | Agents perform bounded work inside granted authority; humans/institutions retain legitimate responsibility | Role utility does not confer personhood or authority |
| C9 | Historical/founder language — old README and mini-essay 04 | Trace is reasoning/process history or the whole path | Qualified | Trace is selected material context, decisions, state, and continuation; hidden reasoning is not required | Selection quality remains contextual |
| C10 | Owner philosophy — mini-essay 04 | A Trace reproduces the same result | Qualified | Trace supports reconstruction, comparison, correction, and continuation, not identity of output | Reproducibility is an open test |
| C11 | Owner philosophy — mini-essay 03 | Delegation requires understanding the whole work | Qualified | Enough understanding to frame purpose, bounds, acceptance, authority, and escalation | Domain mastery is not required or claimed |
| C12 | Owner philosophy — mini-essays 05/08 | Observability licenses autonomy or establishes trust/correctness | Qualified | Observability supports inspection and correction; control scales with risk | No correctness guarantee follows from visibility |
| C13 | Owner philosophy — mini-essays 04/07/08 | Memory simply belongs to person or organization | Qualified | Context decides legitimate access/ownership; vendor captivity is rejected | Legal/privacy/IP allocation remains outside scope |
| C14 | Owner philosophy — mini-essay 08 | Taylorism comparison helps define delegation to agents | Removed | No Taylorism comparison appears | Unnecessary to the short North Star and potentially misleading |
| C15 | Owner architecture — 00. Архитектура TFW.md; master A3 |
TFW is a methodology grounded in Philosophy of Trace and realized by workflows | Retained with source | Same architecture plus explicit owner-positioning statement | Research did not prove category or component novelty |
| C16 | Owner observation — mini-essay 08; TFW-52 | Problem-led Light → Assisted → Full is an effective learning path | Qualified | One founder-led observed route; Editions are proportional realizations | No superiority, retention, transfer, adoption, or field-effect evidence |
| C17 | Working research map — BoK v0.1 | Maturity model, self-improvement, terminology compression, portability, adoption, and broad effectiveness | Not canonized | Only risk-proportional, inspectable continuity enters the essay | Hypotheses/open questions remain open |
| C18 | Iterations 1–2 RES | TFW owns novel components or a research-proven category above framework | Rejected | Adjacent practices are not claimed as inventions; methodology is owner positioning |
Component novelty refuted; category result open |
| C19 | Owner philosophy — mini-essays 04/08 | “Traces are more important than results” as a literal value ranking | Qualified | An isolated output is insufficient for governance/continuation; the result retains value | Relative value depends on use and risk |
| C20 | Master/TS | Self-awareness and repository self-application | Retained with limit | Six inspectable capabilities; no consciousness, authority, accountability, or exclusivity | Human reception of the term is untested |
Claim-state separation in the essay:
- owner philosophy/positioning is identified as such;
- repository behavior is limited to self-application and linked trace/mechanics surfaces;
- Iteration 2 negative results constrain novelty/category wording;
- the teaching path is explicitly an observation rather than a demonstrated outcome;
- BoK hypotheses and open questions do not become facts.
AC-6: Self-awareness and Editions¶
Six-question map¶
| # | Required capability | Essay question |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | Purpose/value | “What are we trying to do and why?” |
| 2 | Knowledge/assumptions/unknowns | “What do we currently know, assume, and not know?” |
| 3 | Decisions/rejections/supersession/evidence | “Which material decisions were made, rejected, or superseded, and on what evidence?” |
| 4 | Current state | “What is the current state of the work?” |
| 5 | Next-decision authority | “Who or what has authority for the next decision?” |
| 6 | Continuation without chat reconstruction | “How can another human or agent continue without reconstructing the original chat?” |
The next paragraph excludes consciousness, independent authority, and accountability. Proportional realizations states that Light keeps semantic continuity, Assisted adds bounded routine support, and Full adds explicit roles/gates/evidence/review as risk warrants. The following paragraph names the sequence as one founder-led route and explicitly denies universal maturity, superiority, learning, retention, transfer, adoption, or field-effect claims.
AC-7: Authority and update paths¶
| Scenario | One destination | Essay basis | Result |
|---|---|---|---|
| A proposal conflicts with purpose or adds excessive process | Project North Star — NS1–NS3 in .tfw/README.md |
Where truth belongs, first sentence |
PASS |
| A current mechanics rule changes | Conventions, glossary, workflows, templates, or Editions | Where truth belongs, first paragraph and local links |
PASS |
| A reader asks why the project became this way | Task Board/task traces, verified knowledge, and Git history | Where truth belongs, second paragraph |
PASS |
| A concept, contradiction, hypothesis, or evidence limit needs depth | Future approved, versioned BoK under a separate task, subordinate to North Star | Where truth belongs, second paragraph |
PASS |
The essay contains no Obsidian path or link, does not describe the working draft as authority, and creates no canon manifest, claims register, or governance surface.
AC-8: Concision, coherence, and navigation¶
Word and line accounting¶
Whitespace-delimited word command:
$text = Get-Content -LiteralPath '.tfw/README.md' -Raw -Encoding UTF8
[regex]::Matches($text, '\S+').Count
| State | Words | Lines |
|---|---|---|
Execution baseline c5da85e |
1,575 | 165 |
| Final candidate | 1,548 | 105 |
| Net | -27 | -60 |
Heading order¶
3: When work disappears
11: Chat is raw material, not memory
17: What a Trace is
25: What makes work continuable
33: What remains human
41: Work that can describe its own state
54: What TFW is
62: Proportional realizations
69: NS1 — Purpose
76: NS2 — Principles
88: NS3 — Non-goals
99: Where truth belongs
The order follows the approved problem-led map: loss → chat limit → Trace → continuability → human boundary → operational self-awareness → definition/architecture → proportional realizations → citable North Star → authority/navigation.
Local link and anchor output¶
The checker extracts Markdown destinations, skips external schemes, resolves each local path relative to .tfw/README.md, and for fragments accepts either an explicit HTML ID or a normalized Markdown heading slug.

Navigation roles are present: current mechanics, practical Editions/start, and corpus/history. No status table, exhaustive artifact catalog, exact tool walkthrough, installation guide, changelog, or BoK outline appears. Stable literal IDs allow Phase B to derive three language doorways without defining another philosophy.
AC-9: Provenance and subtraction¶
Subtraction ledger¶
| Action | Content class | Result |
|---|---|---|
| Removed | Decorative image/tagline and implementation-led opener | Funds the problem-led North Star and avoids treating brand history as stable semantics |
| Removed | Deterministic lifecycle, Full artifact inventory, traditional-vs-trace table | Mechanics are not the methodology definition |
| Removed | Automatic documentation, identical regeneration, lossless resumption, every-decision, no-manual-editing absolutes | Claim strength now matches evidence |
| Removed | Competitive/category section and novelty implications | Adjacent practices and research do not support component/category ownership |
| Removed | Taylorism comparison and external promotional links | Not needed for the Project North Star |
| Moved/routed | Detailed mechanics, start instructions, Editions, history, knowledge | Linked to their existing owners instead of duplicated |
| Added | Selected Trace and continuability definition | Supplies the semantic continuity floor |
| Added | Explicit human/agent authority boundary and contextual memory interests | Prevents responsibility and ownership overclaims |
| Added | Six operational self-awareness questions and limits | Makes capability inspectable without anthropomorphism |
| Added | Philosophy → methodology → realizations architecture | Implements approved master A3 |
| Added | NS1, NS2, NS3 and authority routing |
Establishes the Phase A half of the Project North Star |
| Narrowed | Editions teaching path, methodology label, observability, reproducibility, and BoK role | Keeps observation/positioning/open hypotheses separate from demonstrated facts |
BoK v0.1 final completeness check¶
| BoK class | Check | Canon result |
|---|---|---|
| Ontology | Invisible work, Trace, Goal, Value, Question, Task, Context, Boundaries, result/state, evidence, continuation | Required semantic subset is present in ordinary language; no full ontology is imported |
| Contradictions | Result vs Trace; review vs autonomy; trust vs observability; philosophy vs framework; linearity; bureaucracy; memory/privacy; metrics/correctness | Resolved or bounded in prose where Phase A needs them |
| Hypotheses | Terminology compression, reproducibility, self-improvement, portability effect, adoption, learning, field transfer | Not asserted; open status preserved |
| Risks | Documentation burden, trace quality, privacy/security/IP, responsibility gap, automation bias, premature automation, framework capture | Reflected in proportionality, contextual ownership, authority, and non-goals |
| Non-goals | Prompt library/archive, one app/vendor, total automation, maximum documentation, AI infallibility, software-only framing | Covered by NS3 and domain-neutral prose |
| Open design work | Atomic work unit, trace extraction, staleness, access/deletion, field experiments, BoK structure/versioning | Remains non-canonical and outside Phase A |
The completeness check found no missing concept required by the Phase TS and did not convert any BoK hypothesis, question, risk, maturity level, candidate practice, or draft structure into repository authority.
